Notice of 2025 Annual General Meeting

 

Dear Nanaimo Division Members,

 

Notice is hereby given for the Annual General Meeting of the Nanaimo Division of Family Practice Society, which will be held in-person from 1800 to 1900 on Thursday, October 16th, 2025, at the Coast Bastion Hotel, 11 Bastion Street, Nanaimo, BC, in the Malaspina Room.

Following the Annual General Meeting there will be a presentation and interactive session about responding to disasters. 1 hour of sessional time is available for members to attend this enlightening event.

Call for Nominations to The Board of Directors

*Please review the instructions and information provided on the Board Nomination Form before submitting any nominations.

*If more Nominations are received than vacant positions on the Board, electronic election material will be circulated via email by October 02, 2025 to the voting membership. Otherwise, the nominees will be elected by acclamation at the Annual General Meeting.

The Nanaimo Division of Family Practice is seeking nominations for three (3) General Member Directors at Large who must:

 

  • be 19 years of age or older;

  • be a General Practitioner who is duly licensed by, and in good standing with, the College; and

  • practice as a General Practitioner with or without hospital privileges withing the area

 

Two (2) Associate Directors at Large, who belong to one or more of the following categories:

​

  • Family Medicine Resident registered with the College;

  • Retired General Practitioner in good standing with the College;

  • Specialist Physician duly licensed by, and in good standing with, the College; or

  • Nurse Practitioner duly registered by, and in good standing with, the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia

 

Any member of the Nanaimo Division of Family Practice is eligible for nomination to the Board of Directors, including themself, and the nomination must be signed* by:

 

(i) the Member nominated;

(ii) the nominating Members; and

(iii) in the case of a self-nomination only, one (1) other Member.

 

* Electronic signatures will be permitted

 

Nominations may be done using the Nomination Form below, and can be emailed to the Executive Director, Beccy Robson.

 

*Nominations must be received by Friday, September 19, 2025
