Emergency Planning & Preparedness
The Nanaimo Division of Family Practice is leading a project funded by SharedCare to help our medical community be prepared for and respond to disaster and emergency situations.

The project is focused on personal preparedness and developing a community wide response plan to ensure primary care providers and community specialists have a planned approach that leads to a coordinated cohesive medical response in disaster situations.

We need your input in developing this plan; to be involved in any way contact Nanaimo Division’s Disaster Response Lead Kirsten Schuld.

To learn more on personal and community preparedness, our project team has developed an introductory course, accessible to the community. Nanaimo Physicians and Nurse Practioners will be remunerated 1 hour sessionally upon completion of the course and the corresponding feedback survey.
