Leila Scannell

Leila joined the Division in 2017 as a contracting program evaluator and is now the in-house Quality Improvement and Evaluation manager. She leads QI and evaluation activities across the Division’s programs. She is well-versed in methods ranging from surveys and experiments to interviews and arts-based approaches. She is passionate about rigorous evaluation that contributes to positive community change.

Leila moved from the Kootenays to Vancouver Island in an attempt to escape winter and be close to the ocean. She then completed her PhD in social and environmental psychology at the University of Victoria in 2014, and remains one of the most-cited researchers on place attachment.
