A Bit About Me

Kirsten joined the Division in May 2023 and is the Project Lead for our Social Prescribing Project and Disaster Planning project. Kirsten has a Masters Degree in Nursing from UBC with experience in disaster nursing, patient flow, and healthcare system leadership.

Kirsten was a nurse and then the patient flow manager at Vancouver General Hospital. During this time she also volunteered as a nurse for several large scale global disasters; including the 2005 tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. She then was a clinical director for a national procurement company and spent a lot of time travelling across Canada. Kirsten grew up in Nanaimo and moved back with her husband to raise their 3 kids. In her free time you will find her running and listening to a podcast, or reading and cuddling with her kids
