The Nanaimo Division has partnered with In Space Childcare in an effort to help Family Physicians who are new to the Nanaimo area find and secure childcare. This service will provide support to members navigating the challenges or relocating with young children, offering assistance in accessing available childcare spaces. By addressing a barrier to recruitment and retention, this collaboration strengthens our ongoing efforts to make it easier for Family Physicians to build their careers and lives here in Nanaimo.

How the Partnership Works

This partnership is rooted in a shared goal: helping families access high-quality support, right when they need it most. Our community is working hard to obtain family physicians from all over the world. Helping them secure childcare can contribute to a higher number of physicians moving to and working in Nanaimo.

When new to Nanaimo physicians require childcare, we encourage them to contact In Space Childcare stating that you are a Nanaimo Division Member. When the daycare has openings available, they will make every effort to connect those families with a spot in one of their programs, whether it’s full-time daycare, school age, or seasonal camps.

This system streamlines the process for families and ensures they are connected with licensed, trusted care in a timely manner—removing the stress of searching.
